Sites, sounds, experiments.

Code, sound, circuits, and the occasional strange idea.

An open lab notebook

What you'll find.

Part portfolio, part field journal, part "I need to write this down before I forget it."

  • Audio — live capture of music performances, sound design patches, tape explorations
  • Code — what I do by day. Tools I built because they didn't exist, generative sketches, odd little utilities
  • Electronics — novice tinkering: audio kits I assembled, custom designs in progress, the occasional fried capacitor
  • Writing / notes — I don't write a lot, but when I do it lands here

Nothing here is finished. Some things are barely started. That's the point.

Making a MacBook Pro sound like a MacBook Pro on Omarchy

coding audio recording experiment

The speakers were fine. Apple runs an EQ curve and Linux does not. Measuring it, fixing a PipeWire realtime bug along the way, and a skill so an agent can do it for you.

A bigger model on the same box

coding experiment

The third post about the GB10 box. A model five times the size, a third of the speed, and a 3090 sitting idle because of it.

Agents that stay up when the laptop does not

coding experiment

The built-in agents ran on my laptop, so they stopped when it did. Moving them to an always-on box let me run Claude, Pi and Hermes side by side.

The Same Box, Twice as Fast

coding experiment

A follow-up to the DGX Spark writeup: swapping FP8 for NVFP4 nearly doubled single-stream throughput on the same GB10 box, with room to spare for concurrency.

writing video

Instead of agonizing over spec sheets I ordered both the Sony a6700 and the Fujifilm X-E5 and shot them side by side for a while.

On the workbench, right now.

Just finished a pair of AML EZ1073 mic pres — genuine Neve 1073 reproductions with Carnhill iron and Grayhill switches — and breaking them in across the stereo bus of the summing mixer for some 1073 saturation.
